Splatoon has been out for an entire week, and it’s really living up to the hype! It’s cute, funny, colorful, and most of all FUN! Gamers have been spending countless hours leveling up and splattering ink all over the walls and floors in Turf Wars and trying out all the crazy “weapons” the game has to offer. If you use your Splatoon amiibo, you unlock exclusive challenges that unlock special gear you can’t get any other way.

Splat Zones were finally unlocked this week – these are ranked battles that you can start playing once you hit Level 10. You’ll still try and cover the arena in as much ink as possible – but this time you must keep it covered for at least 100 seconds. More ranked battles are opening up in the future – so make sure to keep playing!

Splatoon - Nintendo WiiU

Splatoon’s story mode is about 30 levels, and is just as fun as the team battles. They’re short levels that are a combination of combat and platforming. We hear Nintendo has even more up their sleeves for Splatoon in the future too, bet we’ll hear about it all next week at E3! We have high hopes, seeing as the game has been out for only 5 days and has already released a FREE update with a new map, a new weapon (helloooo NES Zapper!), and a new game mode!

Splatoon - Nintendo WiiU

Splatoon is truly the “anti-shooter”, and it’s refreshing, super addicting, over the top fun game that’s a must have for any Nintendo fan. Plus, since it’s pretty non-violent, mom and dad might not only approve, but join in on the fun! If you have

If you can’t get enough of leveling up your character and buying new outfits and accessories, check out our post on how to get Splatoon style in real life!

Throw your red caps in the air and jump in your favorite kart because the new Animal Crossing DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 is completely flippin’ awesome! The DLC that came out 4/23 comes with 3 new characters, 8 new tracks (two Cups), and 4 new vehicles. Even if you’re not able to get the DLC pack, there’s still updates you can get your hands on! You’ll also be able to unlock new racing suits using your your amiibo and the 200CC mode are both available in the new MK8 game update!

Here’s the breakdown of what you’ll find in the new MK8 Animal Crossing DLC:
Mario Kart 8 - Animal Crossing DLC

New Characters:

Villager (You can choose boy or girl, just like in Animal Crossing!), Isabelle, and Dry Bowser.

New Cups:

Mario Kart 8 DLC - Crossing Cup
Crossing Cup:
Baby Park from the GameCube (An amusement park themed course that’s great for a quick and easy race!)
Cheese Land from the Game Boy Advance (The most delicious track in this DLC pack!)
Wild Woods (A brand NEW track that’s a twisty-turny forest filled with Toads and Shy Guys. It’s maybe one of the best new tracks in this DLC!)
Animal Crossing (Another NEW track, based on the greatest game in the history of gaming! Okay – maybe that’s a little extreme, but it’s super cute and the seasons change each time you race on it. And the coins are Bells instead of regular coins!)

Mario Kart 8 DLC - Bell Cup
Bell Cup:

Neo Bowser City from the 3DS (Just like the one from MK7, now on the big screen with even better graphics. Raindrops still included.)
Ribbon Road from the Game Boy Advance (Just wait until you see what they’ve done with this track. It’s one of the best updated tracks Nintendo has ever done in any Mario Kart. It’s VERY Toy Story and we’re VERY excited about it!)
Super Bell Subway (Yet another NEW track! It’s basically like Toad Turnpike if it were underground, in the subway!)
Big Blue (A new track inspired by F-Zero. Expect it to be crazy fast! Especially if you turn on the new 200CC mode!)

Mario Kart 8 DLC - City Tripper
New Vehicles:

Karts – Streetle and P-Wing
Bikes – Bone Rattler and City Tripper

The racing suits you’ll be able to unlock in the new update with your amiibo are:
Toad, Bowser, Wario, Rosalina, Villager, Pikmin and Olimar, Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac-Man! To get these suits, you’ll just need to download the game update! (and of course, own the necessary amiibo!)
We’re really into rocking the Villager racing suit paired with the City Tripper bike for the full Animal Crossing experience!

Now that you’ve had a few days to race on them…which track from the Mario Kart 8: Animal Crossing DLC pack is your favorite?

Nintendo recently posted a Super Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot, allowing Nintendo fans from all around the world to nominate their favorite characters to be added to the Smash Roster for 3DS and WiiU. The ballot is open until October 3, 2015 – so you have plenty of time to vote over and over and over again for YOUR fav character! If you’re having trouble deciding who to vote for, we’ve whipped up a few ideas for some kick-butt ideas for the Smash lineup!

Smash Bros Fighter Ballot
Piranha Plant:

Battling as a Piranha Plant would be pretty awesome. You could hilariously hop around, blow fire balls, and chomp the heck out of your opponents! Instead of just alt colors, the Piranha Plant could offer the choice to select Petey Piranha or even one of those Fiery Dino Piranhas from the Super Mario Galaxy series. We think it’d make a great addition to the Smash lineup!

Smash Bros Fighter Ballot
Tom Nook:

Because who wouldn’t want to play as the greatest salesman in all of gaming? Plus, it’d be pretty hilarious to see Mr. Nook wallpapering the other players or fishing them up with a fishing rod. Alt colors could be Timmy and Tommy, possibly even K.K. Slider or Blathers? Blathers would love identifying the opponents impending demise just like he identifies your fossils! While you’re at it, Nintendo, we’d like to put in our vote for more Animal Crossing inspired amiibo.

Smash Bros Fighter Ballot
Jimmy T:

Jimmy T from the Wario Ware series, and every single one of these dancing cats alongside him. Enough said.

Smash Bros Fighter Ballot
Hello Kitty:

Nintendo said that fans can vote for characters who aren’t Nintendo owned, so our vote for Hello Kitty is totally valid. It’d be awesome to see Hello Kitty taking down a big baddie like Bowser with nothing more than a hairbow-boomerang or her big boppy star hammer. Also, she’s an expert roller skater as we learned in Hello Kitty Roller Rescue for the GameCube, which feels like it would be a great ability for quickly escaping opponents!

Smash Bros Fighter Ballot
Bub and Bob:

In the most epic of throwbacks, we think Bub and Bob would make a sweet team. The Ice Climbers had their glory day for many a Smash game, and Rosalina and Luma are a pretty great replacement, but wouldn’t it be fun to bring back a little retro flair? Bub and Bob could trap opponents in their bubbles, just like Bubble Bobble! We think it’s a pretty great plan, unless Baron von Blubba shows up to ruin all the fun.

We could go on and on for hours of all the characters we’d love to vote for on our Super Smash Bros Fighter Ballot, but we’re curious which of these characters you’d like to add to your Smash Roster? Vote below!
