Mario Party: Star Rush Hits Nintendo 3DS This Fall

Mario Party: Star Rush is the newest entry in the always fun Mario Party series, and it’s hitting Nintendo 3DS this Fall!

Gone are the days of waiting and waiting for people to take their turns, in Mario Party: Star Rush, everyone takes their turn at the same exact time! Each player starts the game with a different color Toad, roll their dice simultaneously, and head off in any direction they want to. There’s no more waiting for other people to roll, no more set paths, and no more of those cars everyone hates.

Instead, you and your friends will have to strategize how you want to tackle the board and take down the boss. The boss battles feature iconic Mushroom Kingdom baddies, such as Bowser, Dry Bones, Petey Piranha, King Boo, Kamek and King Bob-omb.  You can try and defeat the boss right off the bat, start collecting items or coins, try to mess with the other players, or come up with a team strategy – it’s all up to you!

The number you roll is the number of spaces you HAVE to take, no more, no less, so sometimes you’ll end up having to pass by the space you really wanted to get to or not have enough spaces to get there before someone else and re-strategize.

You may be wondering where Mario is in all this, since the game is played with Toads. Don’t worry, Mario isn’t missing! All your favorite characters can be recruited to your squad, helping you out in mini-games and challenges. They’re not playable characters, but they’re around to help you out when you need them.

Mario Party: Star Rush supports the brand new Waluigi, Boo, Wario, Rosalina, Daisy, Donkey Kong, and Diddy Kong amiibo, also releasing in the Fall. Since it’s not a real party without your friends, you can play the game with up to 4 players via Local Wireless if your friends have their own copy of the game or via Download Play if they don’t.
