NaNoWriMo Inspiration Series: Writing Prompts & Story Starters
Our last post was all about advice and tips to help you along your writing journey. (Definitely click this and go read that now. We’ll wait.) Whether you’ll be banging at your keyboard all NaNoWriMo long or scribbling out a story just because live to write, you can always use a little encouragement. But how do you get started? You need to think up a theme, a setting, a conflict, characters – there’s so many pieces to a story that it can sometimes become overwhelming.
If you’re someone who struggles to come up with ideas about what to write about or find yourself always writing the same types of things – we’ve got you. We teamed up with a bunch of completely amazing, awe inspiring Middle Grade authors to share some writing prompts and story starters with you guys to help with NaNoWriMo inspiration or really any type of writing project. (Just make sure you thank them in the acknowledgements when you publish your first best-seller!) You wouldn’t think so, but it turns out that even the most seasoned authors sometimes struggle to come up with new ideas. Here’s some expert ideas from the experts themselves on how to get your story started!
