Disney Magical Dice
After weeks of much anticipation and hype from Disney and Netmarble – Disney Magical Dice has finally arrived on the App Store and Google Play! It’s the most magical board game you’ll ever play on your mobile device (and probably like, ever, in the history of board games) that combines your favorite Disney characters with the awesomeness of playing board games with your friends and family, all without the effort of having to make sure you have all the pieces or cram yourselves onto a tiny couch. If you’ve ever played Monopoly, you’ll be able to pick up Disney Magical Dice really easily. There are a TON of differences between the two (most specifically, Disney Magical Dice is actually FUN and doesn’t take 3 hours to play), but it’s definitely based on a similar concept to Monopoly and similar gameplay strategies are used when playing the game. Like Monopoly, you’ll start off with a bunch of cash and have to make your way around a game board, buy up properties, build a bunch of buildings, and try to be the one to take over the board while also trying not to run out of money.
Sounds easy enough, right? What if we told you that you get to dress up in Disney themed costumes and play on game board filled with fun Disney properties. Or that you and the other players can attack each other throughout the game and also snatch up each others properties under each others noses. Yeah – it’s super fun, super fast paced, and takes your average board game to the next level.
There’s a really informative tutorial at the beginning of the game that’ll teach you all the ins and outs of what you need to know in order to get started. You’ll learn all the different methods of how to play, how to win, and when you’re done, you’ll earn 30 gems as a reward. If you’re still a little confused, there’s a Guide and Practice Mode you can access at any time. It’s definitely a hands-on experience, so you’ll definitely want to pay attention. The more you play, the more you’ll learn, and there’s a TON of different types of items, powerups, and all sorts of other goodness crammed into this game, so don’t be afraid to click on stuff, spend a little in-game currency, and see what everything does for yourself. You earn rewards for winning games, for out-ranking your friends on the leaderboard, by playing the game every day, and lots of other ways, so you generally shouldn’t ever need to spend any real cash in order to have enough currency to play the game using at least a few powerups.
Sometimes you just need to try out a powerup or an item before you can grasp just how helpful it can be in future games with the right strategy behind it. (Like the Fairy Bless Fortune Card. It costs 5 gems, sure, but it blocks you from attacks AND spares you service fees one time during gameplay – and you get to choose when. Something like that can make or break you!)
One of the best things about the game is dressing up your character in all sorts of awesome costumes based on your favorite Disney Characters. In order to unlock costumes, you’ll need to purchase packs of Costume Cards. There are two types of card packs – Special, which are Premium Cards that have high rankings and great stats. These cost 200 gems for 10 cards. The second type is Normal, which are lesser ranking, but cheaper. These are only 25,000 coins for 100 cards. Why could you possibly need so many cards? Because you can recycle doubles and unwanted cards into materials to power up your favorite character cards. Powering up a card makes you super powerful and makes all your rankings high, giving you a much better chance at winning.
There’s lots of different Dice to unlock, Game Modes to try, beautiful animations to see, Disney Landmarks to collect, and fun to be had in Disney Magical Dice. All you need to do is download the game to your mobile device and get to playing!
