Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie is Hitting Theaters for One Day Only

Good news, Yo-Kai fans! “Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie” is hitting theaters here in the US on October 15th – but there’s a catch! It’s a ONE day only event that’s only being released to select theaters, so you’ll need to snag your tickets in advance so you don’t get sold out. So what’s “Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie” all about? Peep the trailer here.

The movie ties in with the upcoming “Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits” games (releasing September 30th for Nintendo 3DS). In the flick, Nate, Jibanyan, and Whisper must travel back in time to meet up with Nathaniel (the teenage version of Nate’s grandfather) to help him battle evil Yo-Kai who are trying to take over the world. Together they must uncover the secret of the Yo-Kai Watch and make sure it gets invented in order to save humanity and life as they know it. They’ll also meet Hovernyan, a heroic Yo-Kai who is friends with Nate’s grandfather.

Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie
The movie was originally released in Japan in 2014, and it’s the first big screen Yo-Kai adventure. Since then, they’ve also released a second film, “Yo-kai Watch the Movie: The Great King Enma and the Five Tales, Meow!, and the 3rd movie, “Yo-kai Watch the Movie: The Great Adventure of the Flying Whale and the Double World, Meow! will be released in December. There’s no plan to bring these other 2 movies to the US just yet since the Yo-Kai craze isn’t really as huge here as it is in Japan, but if this special movie event performs well in theaters, it definitely has a good chance of happening.
