Get Your Code On at Spring Break Maker Camp with Jewelbots

If you’re a girl who loves to code you’ve probably heard of Jewelbots. If not, Jewelbots are amazingly cool and totally programmable friendship bracelets that help you learn to code. You can program them to do just about anything you can dream up. Send secret messages between friends, get alerts when your BFF is nearby, or even make it buzz to the tune of your favorite song.

The team behind Jewelbots is fiercely dedicated to their cause of teaching girls everywhere to fall in love with coding as well as inspiring girls to get involved in tech and channel their girl power. That’s why we’re so excited that they’ve announced a special IRL program called Spring Break Maker Camp that isn’t just bringing girls together via their bracelets, but in person!

Spring Break Maker Camp with Jewelbots
Spring Break Maker Camp with Jewelbots
is a 5 day program happening this Spring in NYC! There are two 5-day sessions available, March 27-31 and April 10-14, both of which likely line-up perfectly with your Spring Break schedule.

This hands-on maker camp allows 8-14 year old girls to come together to learn coding skills, come up with fun ideas, and do awesome craft projects all while surrounded by other girls who are just like you!

The camp costs $350 and includes 2 Jewelbots for you to take home after you’ve completed your camp experience. All you need to bring with you to is a laptop and a love of learning. Each student will be provided with lunch and get hands-on experience with the Arduino platform, tips from the Jewelbots squad, and get to dream up their own functionality ideas for their bracelets.

There will also be special keynotes from tech-industry professionals. If you’re based in or around NYC and are interested in learning to code, this is definitely the camp for you. The camp is 5 days long and is about 4 hours each day, meaning you’ll get an awesome learning experience AND still have time to kick back and relax over your time off from school.

If you’re dying to go to Spring Break Maker Camp and get your code on, hit up the Jewelbots site with your parents to register for your session. (They’re even offering up scholarship opportunities for kids who need it!) Make sure to sign up soon – space is limited!
