How did you discover your love of acting and how did you get your start?

JAX MALCOLM: It all started when I was 5. I was watching TV one night and was amazed by the kids on TV. I asked my parents why I wasn’t one of them. From there, I got an agent and a manager and booked my first commercial – a PSA for Smart Power within a couple of months.

I love acting, but also the process of auditioning and working with casting directors.

Which 3 words would you use to describe yourself?

JAX: Loyal, fun, and dedicated.

You directed and starred in a series called Conservation Invasion. What can you share about the series and the message behind it.

JAX: Conservation Invasion is really a passion project for me and is an intersection point for my career in the entertainment industry and as a conservationist. It is geared towards children ages 3-10 and their families to engage, educate, and promote lifelong environmental stewardship.

As most people first encounter wildlife and exciting botanicals as kids, either with their families or in an educational setting like field trips or camps, we shoot mostly on location at zoos, aquariums, animal sanctuaries, museums, and children’s educational centers to bring the experience to the viewer at home.

Additionally, the series aims to spotlight the critical role these institutions play in the fight to save endangered or threatened species and promote the importance of planet conservation.

Tell us about your experience working as a director. Are you hoping to take on more directing projects in the future?

JAX: Directing has been the most rewarding challenge of my career so far! As an actor, it’s my job to bring characters to life. As a director, my role is to blend all of the characters, and action into a cohesive story that viewers want to watch. It can be tough but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

My next directing project is Sketch on the Green, a sketch comedy series that will be shooting late Summer/early Fall this year.

What are your three favorite foods?

JAX: I have a severe dairy allergy so anything I eat has to be dairy free! I love Daiya vegan pizza, orange chicken, and filet mignon with french fries!

We saw on Instagram that you recently hit up Disney World! What are your favorite rides?

JAX: I love to travel to Disney! My favorite rides at Walt Disney World are Expedition Everest, Test Track, and Flight of Passage is unreal!!! If you haven’t tried them you definitely need to!

Giving back is clearly something you value. Can you share a little about the charity work and organizations you’ve lent your time to?

JAX: I am honored to be a founding member of Heal the Bay’s Hollywood Ambassador Board. Working with Heal the Bay allows me to spread the message of keeping our beaches and waterways clean to preserve them for future generations. I also get to attend events at Heal the Bay’s Santa Monica Pier Aquarium where I get the opportunity to influence other kids when it comes to keeping our beaches clean!

Another organization that is near and dear to my heart is St. Baldrick’s. The work they for families with children who have cancer is both incomparable and inspiring I love working with them as well.

Lots of kids are interested in giving back, but aren’t sure where to start. What are a few ways that kids can get involved and make a positive impact?

JAX: The first thing I would do is donate your time to an organization that matters to you personally. That’s where you’ll have the biggest impact. The organizations I work with and raise money for are all meaningful to me and my family.

Can you tell us a little about your new fashion line, Trident?

JAX: #Trident by Jax Malcolm is my newest creative endeavor – I wanted to create a young, hip line for teens and tweens. I just debuted the preview of the Trident Men’s & Mermaid Collection, at the Gen Z Social Summit in Atlanta.

I had some great friends come out and walk for me in ATL including Lexi Rabe (Avengers: End Game, Godzilla), Connor Dean (9-1-1, Cool Cat), Tyler Boronski (YouTuber), and Hawley Penfold (Stranger Things). The full Trident line will show exclusively at the VIP Party at the Gen Z Social Summit in Los Angeles, California in October 2019.
