No, those aren’t tears. It’s just raining on our face. We swear it. Okay fine, we’re a little weepy over our current favorite comic series, Brave Chef Brianna, releasing it’s final issue today. Can you blame us? Brianna’s come so far and she’s about to take on her biggest challenge yet. That’s right, it’s all about to go down between Madame Cron and Brianna in the cook-off to end all cook-offs in Brave Chef Brianna #4 from BOOM! Studios.

Since we want to keep the final issue spoiler free for you guys, let’s take a moment to reflect on all the things we’ve learned from this brave little chef.

5 Life Lessons We Learned from Brave Chef Brianna:

1. Trying new things is important:

Brianna was doing okay for herself at home, but her father’s challenge forced her out of her comfort zone. It was a little uneasy at times, but in the end, Brianna realized that she could do so much more than she ever thought she was capable of. The same is true for you. It’s okay to take a risk and try something new. The worst thing that can happen is that your comfort zone will be waiting there for you if you decide something isn’t right for you.

2. Sometimes a different perspective is exactly what you need.

In this final issue, one of the most important moments is when Brianna’s fresh take on monster style food gives her a big advantage. When you’ve been doing something over and over the same way for so long, it can get a little stale. That’s why it’s always great to try new things, read new types of books, or surround yourself with lots of different types of people. Learning different ways to do things and understanding people’s different perspectives will help you be a better person and achieve your dreams, just like Brianna!

3. Cake is crucial.

Obvi. Never do anything without consulting or eating cake first.

4. If you don’t get what you want…

then you try harder! You get mad! You keep at it until you DO get it, because no one’s gonna give it to you! While Suzan’s advice might have been a little shouty and aggressive in the moment, it’s actually not terrible. From the moment she arrived in Monster City, Brianna had to fight to prove herself and her food worthy of the monsters. When things got rough, she pouted a bunch and doubted herself a little, but then she picked herself up fought for what she believed in. When there’s something that’s important to you, no matter how hard it is, you’ve got to fight for it. And that’s basically been the running message throughout this whole story. You’ve got to work hard for the things you want, and if you mess up, you’ve got to dust yourself off and try again.

5. Be Brave.

Sure, it seems obvious since it’s literally in the title of the series, but bravery and courage are what will get you through even the hardest of times. Brianna was brave when she headed out on her own to open a restaurant. She was brave when she faced-off with her brother in Issue #3, and she was extremely brave when she stood up to Madame Cron in this final issue. But one of the bravest things Brianna does is always stays true to herself. She knows herself, her strengths and flaws, and accepting yourself the way you truly are is incredibly brave. So whether you need the courage to take on a challenging project or the strength to know when it’s okay to walk away, always remember, if Brianna can do it, so can you.
