Barbie is Headed on an Out of This World Comic Adventure
It looks like Barbie is headed out of this world in more ways than one. In what looks like a companion graphic novel to the “Barbie: Star Light Adventure” movie coming out in Fall 2016, it looks like Papercutz will be releasing a “Barbie Starlight.” series.
There isn’t a ton of info on the movie or the comic yet aside from what we learn from the teaser (likely because Mattel is busy getting ready for the “Barbie: Spy Squad” which releases digitally February 9th and on DVD/Blu-Ray March 1st) but can we pause for a moment to appreciate just how gorgeous the cover is?
It’s seriously channelling some “Jem and the Holograms” meets “Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century” vibes (Zenon is one of the greatest DCOMs of all time, if you haven’t seen it, you’re seriously missing out!)
If the storyline and illustrations inside are as great as that cover, we’re in for a seriously fabulous read. The “Barbie Starlight” series hits shelves September 13th, so it’s likely that the “Star Light Adventures” movie will be released sometime around then as well. The book will be written by Tini Howard and be around 64 pages long.
