Baker Street Peculiars

Get ready for a comic adventure filled with friendship, humor, action, and lots of mystery! The Baker Street Peculiars are headed our way this Spring from KaBoom! Studios.

We all know and love at least one version of Sherlock Holmes, the most iconic detective in the history of literature and film. But what is Sherlock was actually his housekeeper, Mrs. Hudson, in disguise? In the Baker Street Peculiars, that’s exactly the truth. Mrs. Hudson is the brains of the detective operation, but when she’s got too many cases to handle on her own, she recruits a team of 3 kids (and a dog!) to help her solve all the mysteries.

Molly, Rajani, and Humphrey all have very different personalities, but have one important thing in common – they don’t have a traditional sense of family. They’ve all been orphaned or estranged by their parents, making them all sort of misfits. Misfits who are actually pretty awesome at solving mysteries together.

Molly lives with her shopkeeper grandfather and she dreams of becoming a detective. She’s extremely enthusiastic about the whole thing, and often leads the team, despite her short legs. Rajani is a little skeptical and kind of guarded since she recently lost the only father figure she ever had, but she’s confident. Humphrey comes from kind of a sheltered upper class family, so he has a lot to learn about the real world and is always surprised when things go wrong. Wellington is his dog, and the only family member he really ever sees.

Not only are we in for lots of peculiar adventures, bringing a bunch of girls into the world of Sherlock Holmes is such a great addition. We love girls who kick butt, which is why we’re so psyched to get our hands on this comic in March 2016, and we hope you all are too! The comic is written and illustrated by familiar faces to fans of other KaBoom! comics. Roger Langridge wrote and illustrated the wonderful Abigail and the Snowman, and Andy Hirsch has illustrated on Adventure Time, Regular Show, and a bunch of other awesome stuff.
