If you’re still sad about Adventure Time coming to an end, we’ve got the perfect cure for all your feels! Adventure Time: Season 11 hit comic shops this week, and it’s picking up where the series finale left off. With everything in ruins after The Great Gum War, Princess Bubblegum and Marceline are working to try and rebuild the Candy Kingdom stronger than ever.
Amongst the rubble, PB is as level-headed and deep as ever, telling Marcy, “I know it looks bad, but destruction is often an opportunity for growth.” Despite the chaos, writer Sonny Liew manages to make the reader feel hopeful for the future of Ooo.
That is, until we’re back at what used to be the treehouse. Finn and Jake are sifting through the rubble in search of things that bring good memories. When BMO breaks down, they head through a suspicious portal and things get WEIRD as they land 1,000 years in the future. Marina Julia’s stand-out illustrations show us that while things may seem like the bright and colorful Adventure Time that we’re used to, things are definitely not as they once were.
The first issue of Adventure Time: Season 11 is out now from KaBOOM!, an imprint of BOOM! Studios and we’ve got a preview below! Grab your friends and scroll through the first few pages of the issue.
If you think things are strange in the preview, just wait until you get your hands on the full issue! Finn and Jake run into a future version of Marceline with bright pink hair who knows how to fix robots and the whole vibe of the place feels super eerie. Things aren’t right, and it’s going to be up to our favorite heroes to try and make it through.
We’re super excited to see where things are headed we think this is an excellent pick for Adventure Time die-hards. You don’t have to have read the other comics in order to pick up Adventure Time: Season 11, however, you’ll need to have seen the series finale.
